During spring break of 1989, my sister, Jane, and I took a mountain bike tour around Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. Capitol Reef is one of those undeveloped jewels most people pass by. If you like desert wilderness with a big climb up into the pine forests, this is the place for you. No facilities are on the loop and very few people were there in the spring, so water is essential.
